One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND," Madison Woodruff, possibly with Romanzo Smith, NY State origin, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed flower with spotted leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, X stamp, and lower handle terminal. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 11".
