Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with tooling to shoulder and body, brush-decorated with a two-stemmed clover plant extending up the front. Clover decoration to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A thin 4 1/2" crack from rim to right of spout. A 3 1/4" hairline from base on reverse. A 4" line to underside, continuing a short distance onto base in two places. Additional short lines to base area. A tiny chip to shoulder molding on reverse. H 8 1/2".
