Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with squared spout, decorated with a brushed tulip motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Excellent condition with a small chip to exterior of spout, minor staining, minor fry to cobalt, and some in-the-firing discoloration. H 14 1/2".
