One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar tooled shoulder, squared rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated around the body with a continuous stem bearing large leaves and tulips. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small raised spot in clay below one handle, a tiny raised spot in clay near base, and a minor in-the-firing rim chip. H 9 3/4".
