Large-Sized Bellarmine Stoneware Jug with Amsterdam Coat of Arms, probably Frechen, Germany, 16th or 17th century, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the neck decorated with a sprig-molded bearded man's face with open mouth. Belly decorated with a sprig-molded design of the Coat of Arms of Amsterdam. Iron-dipped surface with overlying salt-glaze. A large area of restoration to spout. A tight, approximately 4" spider line at base, extending onto underside. Shallow chipping to base. H 13 1/2".
