Exceptional Glazed Redware Mold with Two-Color Slip Decoration, PA origin, 19th century, with flared rim, scalloped walls, and central tube, the lead-glazed interior decorated with an alternating design of slip-trailed yellow slip and daubed manganese slip. Interior base with daubed manganese. Tube decorated with slip-trailed yellow slip stripes. Among the most lavishly-decorated American redware food molds that we have seen. Exfoliation to 3 3/4" section of rim. An additional band of exfoliation to shoulder on reverse, including a small surface flake below. Some spots of exfoliation to interior base. Light wear to top of tube. H 2 1/2" ; Diam. 7 3/4".
