Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD," CT origin, late 19th century, cylindrical jar with flared collar and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a cluster of grapes. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 3/4" hairline from rim on side of jar. A tiny nick and short line to one handle. A drip of silver paint to reverse. Small chips to interior of rim. A 1 3/8" surface line to right of decoration. A Y-shaped surface to underside. A discolored area of salt near base. H 12 1/2".
