Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical jar with brushed cobalt floral motif, stamped "CHARLESTOWN," MA origin, circa 1840; a three-gallon cylindrical crock with slip-trailed floral decoration, stamped "A.K. BALLARD, / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1867-1874. Charlestown jar with rim chips, a 1 1/8" hairline from rim on reverse, and a 2 1/2" surface line to interior of rim, not visible on exterior. Ballard crock with flakes to cobalt, a 4" crack from rim and 3" hairline to midsection on front, a 4" hairline to midsection on reverse, a hairline from rim above each handle, and significant staining to surface. H 11 3/4".
