Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Burlington, VT origin, third quarter 19th century, a one-gallon jug with slip-trailed vine decoration, stamped "NICHOLS & BOYNTON / BURLINGTON VT," paired with a three-gallon churn with leaf decoration, stamped "A.K. BALLARD. / BURLINGTON, VT." Churn includes Albany-slip-glazed lid. Jug with tiny spout nicks and an unglazed in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder. Churn with a small ping at base of decoration, chips to inner rim for lid, and a small chip to exterior of rim. Lid in excellent condition. H (of jug) 12".
