Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Baltimore, MD origin, 19th century, a spittoon with brushed floral-and-spot motif and spot decoration around the opening, circa 1840; paired with a swag-decorated lid, circa 1875. Spittoon with reglued pieces at opening in top, the top edge with a horizontal line, small chip, and small flake. Lid with loss to knob and chips to flange on underside. Dimensions (of spittoon): H 4 1/4" x Diam. 8 3/4".
