Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Milkpans, Baltimore, MD origin, second half 19th century, a one-gallon milkpan with cobalt clover motif, stamped "P. HERRMANN.," Peter Herrmann, Baltimore, MD, circa 1880; paired with a swag-decorated milkpan, unmarked, circa 1870. Herrmann milkpan with rim chips, a 1 1/8" in-the-firing base chip, and calcium residue to interior base. Other milkpan with a spout chip, two minor rim chips, a small in-the-firing base chip, minor in-the-firing base wear, and minor traces of old white paint. Dimensions (of Herrmann milkpan): H 6" ; Diam. 9 3/8".
