Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S / & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Rim chips. A Y-shaped crack on underside, curving onto base on left side of crock's front. An in-the-firing iron ping to handle. Minor staining. H 10 1/2".
