Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Leaf Decoration, OH origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with spotted wing and striping to body and tail, perched on a large leaf. Slip-trailed "6" with flourishes above. Significant restoration not covering any of the bird-on-leaf decoration, but including some touch-up to "6" with flourishes at shoulder. Shallow chips to one handle. A chip and wear to opposite handle. Two chips to interior of rim. H 13 7/8".
