Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt "Rabbit Face" Decoration, Stamped "WESTON & GREGG / ELLENVILLE NY," third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed two-stemmed floral design resembling a rabbit's face. Shoulder impressed with rare "WESTON & GREGG / ELLENVILLE NY" partnership mark. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. In-the-firing chipping around bottom edge. Minor wear and minor staining to surface. H 9 1/4".
