One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "CLARK & FOX / ATHENS / N.Y.," circa 1829-1838, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a stylized plant motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Two rim chips on reverse. A Y-shaped hairline at base on reverse, continuing a short distance onto underside. H 9 5/8".
