One-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, highly-ovoid jug with incised banding to base and spout, decorated with dipped iron slip decoration to upper body and base. A spout chip on reverse, which was created prior to the jug being slip-dipped. Typical minor in-the-firing surface pings. Two tiny base nicks filled with old glue. H 11 3/4".
