Three-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "BOSTON.," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, ovoid jar with tall collar and open loop handles, decorated on the upper and lower body with a dipped iron slip decoration. Incised line decoration to shoulder and elaborate incised banding to rim and base. Shallow chipping to base, some painted. A shallow 3/4" in-the-firing surface chip to reverse. Two adjacent chips to interior of rim, measuring a total of 2". Shallow chipping to inner rim for lid. H 15 1/2".
