Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-0n-Plant Decoration, Stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD," CT origin, circa 1871-1890, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on the stem of a plant. Light cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/2" chip to front of rim. A small chip to interior of rim. A 5" Y-shaped line to reverse. Staining to reverse and left side. H 11 1/8".
