Very Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Inscription, "Hartford / Pottery / 88 Front St," attributed to Seymour & Bosworth, Hartford, CT, circa 1871-1890, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the slip-trailed cobalt inscription, "Hartford / Pottery / 88 Front St." Areas of exfoliation to surface. A thin 6 3/4" crack from rim on front. Some fry to cobalt. Light water glass staining to exterior. Moderate water glass staining to interior. H 9 3/4".
