Stoneware Bowl with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, with rounded sides, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a heavily-leafed stem extending across the front. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A lesser-seen form in American stoneware. A small rim chip on side of bowl. A salt drip to front. Interior with two scratches and some water glass residue. Dimensions: H 6" ; Diam. 12 1/2".
