Exceptional Three-Gallon Stoneware "ICE WATER" Cooler, Stamped "T.G. DAUB / EASTON, PA," late 19th century, keg-form cooler with circular bunghole and tooled banding, brush-decorated with inscription, "ICE . WATER," above a curving floral motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and spout. Rare form with highly unusual inscription. A 7/8" flake to interior of rim. Small chips to interior and exterior of rim. A 2 1/2" inverted J-shaped crack at base, continuing across underside and 2 5/8" up reverse. Some small raised bubbles in clay at shoulder area on reverse. A 2" surface line to right of the word, "ICE.," not visible on interior. H 11 1/2".
