Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON. / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A horizontal crack through handle. Small spout chips. Scattered minor surface wear. H 14".
