Two Pieces of Central PA Stoneware, second half 19th century, a one-gallon jug with brushed design of a graduated flower blossom, stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG, PA, circa 1865; paired with a small ovoid jar with brushed tulip motif, attributed to H.B. Pfaltzgraff, York, PA, circa 1870-1889. Jug with a 4 1/4" x 1 5/8" shallow flake across underside and two minor spout nicks. Jar with a 2 1/2" crack from rim on front, four tight lines emanating from underside/base partway up body of jar, a small in-the-firing chip to interior of rim, a minor nick to exterior of rim, minor chipping to underside, and the number "77" in black marker on underside. H (of jug) 11 1/2" ; H (of jar) 6 1/2".
