Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid jar with footed base, flared collar, and extruded lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed tulip motif. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a line of cobalt below each handle. Significant restoration to one side and area below one handle, which is starting to peel. Light exfoliation to opposite side. A small rim chip. H 13 1/2".
