Large-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Floral Motifs, Palatine, WV or Western PA origin, circa 1880, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with two stenciled rose motifs extending up the front. A small chip to exterior of rim on reverse and a minor in-the-making nick to rim on reverse. Minor roughness to inner wax sealer rim. A few minor nicks to shoulder molding. Minor surface wear to reverse. H 10 1/2".
