One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, rotund jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, brush-decorated with a large stylized floral motif over slip-coated clay. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing surface chip to reverse. H 9 7/8".
