Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON, / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a series of conjoined slip-trailed stems resembling a heart. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with minor surface wear, light staining, and a small bloated spot to shoulder. H 13 3/4".
