One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON. / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with an abstract slip-trailed design featuring symmetrical scrolled stems and looping flourish. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Very nice condition with two small, shallow spout chips and two nicks to interior of spout. H 11 1/2".
