Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "THOMAS & BRO, / HUNTINGDON PA," circa 1870, ovoid jar with semi-squared rim and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a floral motif featuring a blossom composed of several graduated vertical strokes. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA. A 4 1/2" Y-shaped line to underside forming a 4 1/2" tight spider line at base on reverse. A 1 3/4" rim chip on reverse and a small rim chip above one handle. H 10 1/2".
