Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to Henry Glazier, Huntingdon, PA, circa 1831-1854, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and squared rim, brush-decorated around the shoulder with two continuous wavy cobalt bands. Literature: Illustrated in Shedd, Glazier Stoneware Huntingdon, PA, p. 38 and back cover. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA; purchased by Shedd at a Huntingdon estate sale. Excellent condition with very minor wear to exterior and minor traces of gold paint to interior. H 12 3/4".
