Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "R.W. RUSSELL," Beaver, PA origin, circa 1860, both of semi-ovoid form with applied lug handles, one decorated with crossed branches, the other with a vine motif. One jar includes the impressed town name, "BEAVER, PA." Taller jar with a 2 1/4" chipped area to side of rim, a shallow chip to one handle, and minor chipping to inner rim for lid. Shorter jar with a chip to interior of rim, chips to one handle, minor wear to end of opposite handle, and a small X-shaped line under one of the handles. H (of taller) 11 1/4".
