Extremely Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Chicken Waterer, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON / & CO. / GREENSBORO, / PA.," circa 1875, beehive form with flattened top, thick, arching handle, and applied watering trough, featuring James Hamilton maker's stenciling and cobalt highlights to the trough and handles. The first signed Hamilton chicken waterer that we have seen. Significant cracks throughout. Losses to trough. A large flake above trough. A drip of old gray paint to top. H 12".
