Large-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "RICHEY & HAMILTON / PALATINE. / W.VA.," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring Richey & Hamilton maker's stenciling within a banner. Freehand straight and wavy stripe decoration to shoulder. Heavy chipping to interior of rim and a chip to inner rim. H 10 1/4".
