One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, ovoid jar with footed base, tall collar, and extruded lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a large brushed design of a drooping flower. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a looping line of cobalt below each handle. An in-the-firing 1 1/4" flake to one handle. A 3/4" base chip and a few other very minor base chips. A 1" line to base. A small chip to exterior of rim. Small chips and wear to interior of rim. Some streaks of staining. Rim is slighty out-of-round. H 10 1/4".
