Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bank, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid form with footed base, stepped finial, and vertical coin slot, decorated around the shoulder with a stem bearing conjoined fan-shaped flowers. Slot surrounded by cobalt brushwork with hanging flower below. A prized American stoneware form. Cobalt highlight to top of finial. Some fry to cobalt. Roughness to slot. A 7/8" base chip. H 7 1/8".
