Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Bottle, Stamped "HENRY GLAZIER. / HUNTINGDON, PA.," circa 1831, cylindrical form with tall spout and rounded mouth, impressed with Glazier's earliest maker's mark, featuring the potter's full name surrounded by a vine-like border. Literature: Illustrated in Lasanksy, Made of Mud, Stoneware Potteries in Central Pennsylvania 1831-1929, p. 18. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA; acquired by Shedd at Kinzle Sale Management Service, American Stoneware Pottery II, The Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Reynolds, Duncansville, PA, 1976, lot 308. A large Y-shaped crack to reverse. A 7/8" x 3/4" chip to side of spout. H 8 1/4".
