Rare Miniature Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, NY State origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tall collar and rounded lug handles, decorated on one side with cobalt spots between freehand stripes and on the reverse cobalt drapery below a freehand stripes. Cobalt highlights to handles and a curving line of cobalt below each handle. Collar incised with an X. A shallow 1 3/4" flake to top of rim, presumably an in-the-firing stacker scar. A few other minor rim chips. Two tiny base chips. H 4 1/16".
