Two Pieces of Hartford, CT Stoneware, early 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jug, stamped "P. CROSS / HARTFORD," paired with a two-gallon churn, stamped "G. BENTON / & / L. STEWART / HARTFORD," both with cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and handle terminals. Jug with a hairline through handle, a chip and a short crack to top of spout, an inverted 2" fork-shaped line to shoulder, tight lines to base area, continuing onto underside, and a base chip. Churn with significant restoration to collar, some restoration to base, and minor unrestored base chips. H (of jug) 15".
