Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1875-1880, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, featuring freehand stripe decoration and the diagonal maker's stenciling, "Jas. Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro. Pa," surrounding a geometric stenciled design; paired with a cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a stenciled rose motif, Western PA origin; and a canning jar with wax sealer rim, stenciled "A.P. Donaghho / Parkersburg, WV, circa 1880. Hamilton jar with thin 3 3/4" and 3/4" cracks from rim, small chips to shoulder molding, chips to interior of rim, two nicks to inner wax sealer rim, and traces of old green paint to interior. Rose-stenciled jar with a 1" flake on in-the-firing ping to base, a 2 1/4" reglued piece at rim on side of jar, a horizontal crack at base, continuing to underside, and a small chip to shoulder molding. Donaghho jar with three small rim chips and two small chips to inner wax sealer rim. H (of rose-stenciled jar) 8 1/8".
