Two Stoneware Cake Crocks, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, one with two-sided brushed swag decoration, paired with a larger example with two-sided vertical leaf decoration. Smaller example includes loosely-fitting lid with swag decoration, impressed "2," not original to the crock. Smaller with a faint X-shaped surface line on underside, not visible on interior. Larger in excellent condition with two minor rim chips and minor rim wear. Lid with significant restoration, including restored knob. Dimensions (of larger): 9 1/2" x 5 7/8".
