Two Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jugs, Stamped "OIL," attributed to Branch Green, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1820, measuring two and three gallons, both of ovoid form with heavily-tooled spouts, impressed "OIL" below capacity marks. Two-gallon jug with base chips, a few spout chips, and a circular in-the-firing contact mark to reverse. Three-gallon jug with base chips, minor spouts of wear to interior of spout, and an in-the-firing worn spot of spout. H (of taller) 16 1/2".
