Fine Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid pitcher with tooled rim, decorated with an elaborate brushed design of a flowering stem bearing six blossoms. Additional foliate and flower bud motifs to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent decoration and color. Base and spout chips. A small filled rim chip. Crazing to handle. H 9 1/8".
