Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to George and Albert Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a stem bearing three stylized flowers in the distinctive Black family style. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Rim chips. Numerous small base chips. A tiny chip and minor nick to one handle. Minor surface wear. H 11 3/4".
