Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "S.B. BOSWORTH / HARTFORD," CT origin, circa 1880-1890, a two-gallon jug and three-gallon crock, both with brushed and slip-trailed design of a bird perched on the stem of a plant. Jug with fry to cobalt, restoration to surface, not affecting decoration, some exfoliation to underside, and a tiny nick to spout. Crock with light fry to cobalt, rim chips, staining and surface lines at base on reverse, and a Y-shaped line at base on reverse, continuing a short distance onto underside. H (of jug) 12 1/2".
