Exceptional Large-Sized Stoneware Bellarmine Jug, probably Frechen, German, 16th or 17th century, ovoid jug with tooled spout, the spout decorated with a molded and applied design of a bearded man's face, the shoulder and midsection with molded and applied medallions featuring relief floral motifs. Surface dipped in iron slip and covered in a clear salt glaze. Remarkable size. Excellent condition with a faint V-shaped line on underside and some light surface wear. H 19 1/2".
