Fine Small-Sized Tanware Pitcher, New Geneva or Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1885, elegantly-potted, ovoid pitcher with raised shoulder molding and narrow, flaring collar; Albany-slip-decorated around the body with an elaborate sweeping fuchsia vine design between freehand stripes. Molding decorated with diagonal slashes. Collar decorated with unusual horizontal stripes below a drape-and-dot motif. Diagonal stripes to handle and highlight to lower handle terminal. Among the better small-sized tanware pitchers that we have offered. Provenance: Recently surfaced in NJ. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with minor traces of old white paint to surface. H 5 5/8".
