Fine Large-Sized Tanware Pitcher, Greensboro or New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1882, semi-ovoid pitcher with flared collar and tooled rim, decorated in Albany slip at the midsection with unusual three-petaled tulip motifs in the Boughner family style, flanked by straight and wavy stripes. Spout decorated with a vertical vine motif between stylized flower blossoms. Freehand stripe above, underscored by draped brushwork. Diagonal brushwork to handle. Albany slip highlights to handle terminals. Faint penciled date on underside, "1882." Excellent condition with a miniscule rim nick on reverse. H 8 3/4".
