Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "G.S. GUY & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of crossed birds perched on a leafy branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 1/4" chip and other small chips to interior of rim. A minor glazed-over chip to underside at edge. A minuscule nick to one handle. H 11".
