Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Manhattan, NY origin, probably Clarkson Crolius, Sr., circa 1805, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a four-petaled flower blossom, accented with spots and short diagonal lines. Heavy chipping to base. Various in-the-firing flaws to surface. H 11 7/8".
