Rare Stoneware Jug with Cobalt "1862" Date, Stamped "R O CONNELL / ALBANY N Y," 1862, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, featuring the large slip-trailed date, "1862," underscored by a series of graduated dashes. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Rare maker's mark and desirable Civil War era date. Large Y-shaped line to shoulder. Thin horizontal crack to handle. Some minor staining. H 13 1/4".
